How to Personalize Your Space with Stickers

If you’re anything like me, decorating is a process that never seems to end. I’m constantly looking for new ideas and ways to change things up around the house (this gets really dangerous when I step into any home goods store). I find it exciting to surround myself with fun new decorations. That’s why I like to use stickers to really make my walls pop. With all the opportunities involved when decorating, I know it can get tough to know where to start. (If you’re new to the world of sticker art, read this post first to get an idea on what it’s all about).

So in order to start off on the right track, here are some tips and tricks on how to personalize your space with stickers.

Show your personality

This is the first and most important thing. Always make sure that you actually like what you pick out. I know this may sound like a no-brainer, but it’s easy to get caught up in the moment. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve bought something off impulse and realized it didn’t represent me at all. If you don’t love it at first sight, you probably never will. Make sure you fall in love with your purchase. After all, Vinyl Revolution has TONS of sticker options.

Think of the mood

Where is this going? What’s the feel of the room? Keep in mind how your wall art will affect the surrounding décor.  Think of matching colors, shapes, and sizes. Maybe use multiple stickers together and create your own story. For example, you could create an entire underwater landscape, or scenes from your favorite movie. Use wall art to show off your country’s heritage. If you have an idea, get creative!

Fit the space

Sometimes you can end up with a really tiny space left to fill, or some wall space that’s too awkward to fit typical picture frames. That’s where stickers really come in handy. You can put them in any situation, whether that’s on a wall, window, or on your desk. If you’re ever stuck on what to do, think outside of the box. Remember, there are no rules! Put stickers where you want them, and make the space your own.

Balance stickers with other art

Try putting some stickers next to your other furnishings. Maybe that Donkey Kong sticker would go nicely next to your video game system (yes, I am referring to myself again). I found out that putting up some stickers that matched my surroundings really changed how the room felt. This is great for setting up your game room, movie room, or your home office.

Have fun!

Not everything is black and white. If you want some decoration on your fireplace, you can do that. How about inside your fridge? You can do that too! Never think you’re only allowed to decorate your walls. After all, art is limitless.

Hopefully these tips will help you when you’re getting ready to decorate your home. Remember that stickers don’t have to be used alone. You can use them as the center of attention, or simply to bring life into a space. The best part about decorating with stickers is that they aren’t permanent. Feel free to change things up to figure out what works best for you. Don’t be afraid to try new things, and remember to have fun with it!
